Prosper Mayor David Bristol will host a free luncheon for residents 55 and older on Oct. 14 at 970 Coit Road.
The annual event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bristol will give attendees an update on developments in and around town, according to the city's website. The meal is complimentary, but a reservation is required.
No agenda or topic list has been published for Bristol's remarks. He has been talking publicly about the town's growth. In a Sept. 18 interview with Eagle Nation Online, Bristol discussed a large-scale development called the Marco, planned for the corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Highway 380.
"It's going to be the biggest development in Prosper. It's going to be modeled a lot like the Adriatica subdivision in McKinney," Bristol said in that interview.
The Marco and other fast-moving projects across town are the kind of updates Bristol is expected to bring to the luncheon audience.
How to register
Residents can reserve a spot through the city's Parks and Recreation registration form. The form asks for name, email, phone number, party size and any food allergies or preferences.
More for active adults
The luncheon is part of a broader slate of programming Prosper offers its 55-and-older residents. The city held a separate Active Adults 55+ Expo on Sept. 22, a free showcase focused on healthy aging, community resources and information for older adults and their families.
