Prosper shoppers looking for imported cheeses, Eastern European staples and pastries will have a new option this fall when Gourmet European Market opens at La Cima Crossing along US-380.

The Dallas-based specialty grocer plans to open its second location in Prosper in mid-to-late September, a company representative confirmed to Community Impact, which reported the expansion Aug. 10.

Gourmet European Market stocks imported foods from Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Italy, Germany and France, according to the business's website. The store carries imported cheeses and meats, European snacks and candies, breads, pasta and caviar.

The new store will join La Cima Crossing, a retail center at the northwest corner of La Cima Boulevard and US-380 (University Drive). The Prosper Economic Development Corporation lists La Cima Crossing among the town's major retail centers alongside the Gates of Prosper, Prosper Commons and Prosper Crossing. Nearby retailers along the corridor include Walmart, Dick's Sporting Goods and Texas Roadhouse.

The market opened its first store at 17435 Preston Road in Dallas in 2025. It accepts EBT.

The Prosper opening adds to a wave of specialty food retailers entering the area. Vasilios Mantzios opened Di Mantzio's Greek & Italian Gourmet Market in downtown Celina in 2024, stocking pasta, wine, bread and olive oil from small-scale European producers. "More than half of my clientele, even if I was in Frisco or surrounding markets, were families from Celina and Prosper," Mantzios told Community Impact in a June profile of his store.

That demand is now drawing a second specialty grocer to the corridor.

No building permit or Prosper EDC filing for the new location has appeared in public records. Gourmet European Market has not announced a specific opening date beyond the mid-to-late September window.
