Nowhere Bar, the dive bar and burger joint at 501 W. Walnut St. in Celina, hit its one-year mark in July 2026 after opening in the former Jimbo's Pizza space.

Husband-and-wife owners Katie Dunn and Taylor Witt, who also run Little Wooden Penguin near downtown Celina, told Community Impact Newspaper the bar has built a steady base of regulars since opening in July 2025.

"We wanted a local place where everyone could afford to come to. Nothing over the top, just simple, easy and repeatable," Witt told the newspaper.

The bar is open seven days a week for lunch, dinner and late-night service. It features multiple TVs, a patio, pool, darts and shuffleboard.

Walls, chairs and the bar top are covered in stickers and flags left by customers and staff. Local artist Bristen Phillips, who has painted murals around Celina including the Grace Bridge Resale mural and the one behind The Toasted Walnut, reworks a themed mural inside the bar every quarter.

Dunn told Community Impact that keeping spending local is a priority, estimating 80% or more of the bar's costs stayed within the community.

The bar has also served as a gathering place for local groups. In October 2025, the Preston Trail Rotary Club held a Pints for Polio fundraiser at Nowhere Bar, with $30 tickets that included a Rotary pint glass and two pints of beer.

That community role comes as Celina continues to grow at a pace unmatched anywhere in the country. The city added more than 12,000 residents between July 2024 and July 2025, reaching a population of 64,427, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates reported by WorldAtlas. The 24.6% growth rate made Celina the fastest-growing city in the United States. Since the 2020 Census count of 16,739, the city has nearly quadrupled in size.

Dunn told the newspaper that seasonal draws like the NFL, college football and the 2026 FIFA World Cup have turned first-time visitors into regulars. Witt said the couple is already thinking about what the next wave of diners in a fast-growing city will want.

Nowhere Bar's menu includes smash burgers, chicken wings, Philly cheesesteaks, boozy milkshakes and churro fries, according to the bar's website.
