Prosper and Walnut Grove meet Tuesday in a District 6-6A volleyball rematch that could determine which Prosper ISD program earns the higher playoff seed.

Both squads have clinched postseason berths in Class 6A Division II, according to Star Local Media. The team that finishes higher between the two earns the better seed in the postseason bracket. Allen (10-0 in district) and McKinney Boyd (9-1) hold the top two spots in District 6-6A, according to Dallas Morning News area rankings published Oct. 14, placing the Prosper-Walnut Grove battle in the next seeding tier.

Walnut Grove won the first meeting 3-1 on Sept. 25. That gave the Lady Wildcats the head-to-head edge heading into the final stretch of district play.

Prosper hosts the rematch looking to split the season series and pull even in the standings. The Lady Eagles swept Rock Hill 3-0 on Oct. 9 but dropped a 1-3 decision to McKinney Boyd on Oct. 16, according to MaxPreps. Prosper also fell 0-3 to Allen on Oct. 2, underscoring the gap between the district's top two teams and the rest of the field.

Walnut Grove enters off a stronger run. The Lady Wildcats won three of four matches heading into mid-October, including victories over both Prosper ISD rivals, according to Star Local Media, which profiled Walnut Grove's Mackenzi Law on Oct. 2.

Law stepped into a larger role after star senior outside hitter Brynn Stephens went down with a foot injury during district play. Across two matches in that stretch, Law totaled 23 kills on 49 attempts with only four errors and four blocks.
