A Celina man faces five felony charges after police say he shot a neighbor multiple times during a dispute in the Carter Ranch subdivision on Sunday, May 3.

Jason-Glenn Bishop, 38, was arrested that night and booked into the Collin County Detention Facility on five counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second-degree felony. The Collin County Sheriff's Office set his bond at $380,000.

Celina police officers responded around 6 p.m. to calls about a dispute between neighbors in the 300 block of Tarpan Trail, according to a city alert published Aug. 11. Witnesses told officers the confrontation escalated quickly. One person was offered treatment at the scene; another was transported by Celina Fire Department EMTs to a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds.

No motive has been released.

The victim remained hospitalized as of the city's update and is expected to recover from multiple gunshot wounds.

The Criminal Investigation Division under Chief John Cullison continues to investigate. The department has not disclosed what triggered the dispute or why five counts were filed when one victim has been identified. No court date has been announced.

The Celina Police Department's initial statement, issued the evening of May 3, assured Carter Ranch residents there was no ongoing threat to the public.
