The Prosper Eagles will be without junior Lucas Wood when they take the field against North Forney at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4.

Wood, a lineman who runs the training business Youth Lineman Co., is out for the season with a leg injury. He watched Prosper's 56-37 season-opening win over Rockwall on Friday, Aug. 28, from the sidelines at Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium.

"It feels good, just being with my team, supporting them, because they're my brothers," Wood told Eagle Nation Online. "I'm working every day to get back to my team, and it's really motivated me seeing how our chemistry … is gonna really fire me up to get back quicker."

The Eagles enter Week 2 ranked in the top 20 statewide. Eagle Nation Online placed them 18th in Texas, while MaxPreps listed them No. 17 with a 40.1 strength score.

In the opener, quarterback Tyler Albert threw for 250 yards and five touchdowns. Running back Hudson Bowman added 160 yards and two scores on the ground, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Head Coach Tyler Moore, who has led the program since the 2014-2015 season, said he felt "excited, proud" after the win. Moore told Eagle Nation Online the opener was "such a big win" for a roster full of new starters after a large senior class graduated.

North Forney opens its season in the matchup. The Falcons finished 10-2 in 2025 but lost star quarterback Legend Bey, who is now at Ohio State, the Dallas Morning News reported. MaxPreps ranks North Forney No. 36 in Texas.

The game venue has not been independently confirmed. Eagle Nation Online's schedule lists the game at Prosper High School, while the Dallas Morning News places it at Better Life Stadium in Forney.

Prosper carries a 64-player varsity roster into the game. Senior Madden Christensen said the team's focus has already shifted to the nine remaining games on the schedule.

After North Forney, the Eagles play Westlake for homecoming on Friday, Sept. 11, at Children's Health Stadium.
