Prosper's annual Veterans Day Honor Run returns to Frontier Park on Nov. 7, with race proceeds supporting the Veterans Memorial at the nearly 80-acre park.
The event at 1551 Frontier Pkwy. opens with a ceremony at 8 a.m. and offers three distances: a 10K, a 5K and a Fun Run for families and walkers. A medal ceremony for top finishers wraps up the morning around 11 a.m., according to the Town of Prosper's event page.
The race welcomes all ages and fitness levels. The 10K anchors the competitive field, the 5K suits casual runners and those easing back into activity, and the Fun Run is open to families with children and anyone who prefers walking to racing.
Entry fees support the Veterans Memorial at Frontier Park, Prosper Local News reported. The Town of Prosper dedicated a Liberty Tree at the memorial site in July, marking the America 250 celebration with a Chinkapin Oak, the town said on X.
Residents who train through the Mayor's Fitness Challenge can have their registration fee waived, according to the town. Registering by Oct. 25 guarantees a race T-shirt and finisher medal.
The Honor Run falls the day after Prosper's Arbor Day Celebration on Nov. 6 on S. Teel Parkway. That gives residents two town events in two days.
For registration details, visit the town's event page or contact Parks & Recreation at 972-569-1160.
