Prosper senior quarterback Tyler Albert has thrown for 1,843 yards and 26 touchdowns this season, and Friday he carries that production into a road test at 4-2 Dallas Jesuit.

The 5-1 Eagles visit the Rangers at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, in a District 6-6A game with direct playoff-seeding implications. Jesuit sits at 3-0 in district, tied with nationally ranked Allen for first place, according to The Dallas Morning News. Prosper enters at 2-1.

A win would pull the Eagles even with Jesuit in the district standings. A loss would leave Prosper two games back with the second half of district play ahead.

Albert, a third-year varsity starter, has been the engine. He completed 13 of 17 passes for 262 yards and five touchdowns in Prosper's 63-12 win over Rock Hill on Oct. 9, according to USA TODAY Sports. The Eagles scored 42 points before halftime in that game. Prosper averages 316.5 passing yards per game, the top mark among area 6A programs, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Albert has thrown just three interceptions all season.

"I want to win district this year," Albert told Eagle Nation Online in a September profile. "Beating Allen and Walnut Grove would be the two games that I'm hyper focused on."

He did not mention Jesuit then. The Rangers have since won three straight district games, including an overtime upset of Walnut Grove.

Jesuit quarterback J.P. Livingstone threw for 396 yards and five touchdowns on Oct. 8 in a 50-49 overtime win over Prosper Walnut Grove at Children's Health Prosper ISD Stadium, as first reported by The Dallas Morning News. Receiver Joseph Konings hauled in seven catches for 182 yards and two scores. The game-winner came on a two-point conversion pass from Livingstone to Hunter Helm.

That victory earned Jesuit its first appearance in the VYPE DFW football rankings at No. 19. Prosper sits at No. 9 in the same poll.

The Rangers' defense allowed 629 total yards and 309 passing yards against Walnut Grove, according to the Dallas Morning News. Albert and Prosper's 316.5-yard passing average will face that defense Friday.

Prosper is ranked No. 6 in the USA TODAY Texas rankings and No. 8 in the USA TODAY Southwest region poll.

The freshman teams open the series Thursday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. at Dallas Jesuit, with the JV squad hosting at Prosper High School at the same time, according to Eagle Nation Online's weekly brief.
