EWS Local, LLC has filed for a state alcohol permit to open a liquor store called Local Spirits at 4280 S. Dallas Pkwy, Suite 100, in Celina.
The company applied with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) for a Package Store Permit and a Local Distributor's Permit, according to a notice published in the Collin County Commercial Record. The notice listed publication dates of Oct. 20 and Oct. 22.
Four members are listed on the LLC: Cameron East, Joseph East, Michael Schneider and Ryan Wilcox.
The Package Store Permit would allow Local Spirits to sell beer, wine and distilled spirits in sealed containers for off-premises consumption, according to TABC guidelines. Under that permit, the store could operate from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Package stores may not open on Sundays, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day or New Year's Day.
The Local Distributor's Permit would also authorize the business to sell alcoholic beverages to bars and restaurants holding mixed beverage certificates or private club registration permits. That permit is a subordinate license that can only be issued to a business holding a Package Store Permit, according to TABC.
The Local Spirits website describes the business as part of Joe East Enterprises, a family-owned company that has operated in the Dallas-Fort Worth area since 1949. The site says the company has been in business for more than 70 years.
No opening date for Local Spirits at the S. Dallas Pkwy address has been announced. The TABC permit application must still be approved before the business can begin selling alcohol.
