Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors held its first fall festival Saturday, Oct. 24, at the nonprofit's Celina food pantry on South Coit Road. The event featured inflatables, games and free food for the families the pantry serves.
The nonprofit, known as N3, partnered with Gateway Church of Prosper on the festival at 3125 S. Coit Road, Building 170, as Star Local Media first reported. Gateway Church had reached out to N3 about hosting an appreciation event for pantry clients, and the nonprofit's leadership agreed.
Organizers estimated more than 50 people attended.
The menu included hot dogs, popcorn, snickerdoodle cookies and Kona Ice. Kids bounced through inflatables while families played games around the pantry's lot.
N3 operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit food pantry dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing food insecurity, according to the organization's food assistance page. A fundraiser page on the N3 website says the pantry provides food for more than 3,300 people in the community. The pantry serves residents of Collin County and surrounding areas.
Residents who need food assistance can call or text (469) 296-8877 or email [email protected] to schedule an appointment.
The Star Local Media report described organizers' hopes of growing the festival into a regular community gathering. No date for a second event has been announced.
Upcoming community dates: N3's senior food distribution for residents 60 and older takes place the first Friday of each month, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at 3125 S. Coit Road, Building 170, Celina.
