A steakhouse with a rooftop lounge and a speakeasy is targeting an opening at 209 W. Broadway St. in downtown Prosper, though the timeline has already shifted once this week.
Restaurant 1902 will serve steaks and American classics with a Tex-Mex twist, according to Community Impact, which reported a late September opening timeline Aug. 27 based on the restaurant's website. As of Friday, Aug. 28, that same website listed the opening as "Early October 2026." The bar will offer craft cocktails and wine.
The venue will occupy the former Prosper Wine House space. It will include a ground-floor dining room and an upstairs speakeasy called Mary Ann's Speakeasy, according to Prosper Local News, along with a rooftop lounge described on the restaurant's own website.
Chef Amy DiBiase, a Johnson & Wales University graduate with more than 20 years of culinary experience, is leading the kitchen. DiBiase serves as chief operating officer and culinary director for Alora Hospitality Group, the company behind 1902, according to her LinkedIn profile. Jason Young was identified as co-owner of Alora Hospitality Group in a February 2025 Local Profile feature on the project.
The restaurant's Facebook page describes the concept as serving premium steaks with Texas-Mexican fusion flavors, along with brunch, happy hour and dinner service.
1902 joins a growing roster of independent restaurants on Broadway Street. The Gin Prosper, Heyday, Trick Rider, Hana Hibachi & Sushi and LaLa's Taqueria already operate in the downtown corridor, according to a March 2026 Prosper Local News dining guide.
The name carries historical weight on that block. The Gin, a neighboring restaurant, operates out of a building constructed in 1902, according to owner Michael Pettis. "There's always something going on," Pettis said in a June 2026 Community Impact profile about running a business in the historic structure.
No exact opening date, hours or reservation details have been announced beyond the website's "Early October 2026" placeholder, which does not specify a day. The website was live and accessible Friday, Aug. 28.
