The Dallas North Tollway's structural skeleton now stretches into Celina.

Bridge decks have been completed from US 380 in Prosper to Light Farms Way in Celina, according to a Community Impact report citing a North Texas Tollway Authority progress update. The decks are the load-bearing layer that carries the road surface and, eventually, traffic.

The milestone means the tollway's physical structure has crossed into Celina for the first time as the $459.7 million project moves toward its late 2027 opening target.

What's being built

The current extension runs from US 380 in Prosper north to FM 428 in Celina. NTTA describes the full Phase 4 corridor as nearly 14 miles from US 380 to the Collin/Grayson county line, according to the authority's project page. A future phase will continue the tollway from FM 428 to that county line, though no timeline has been announced for that segment.

The last major structural milestone came in 2023, when bridges extending the DNT over US 380 into Prosper opened to travel.

Construction progress

In an April 23 post on X, NTTA said crews were "setting beams, placing deck panels, and placing concrete for the main lanes." The bridge deck completion reported this month shows that deck work has now finished across the stretch reaching Light Farms Way into Celina.

As we reported Aug. 14, lane closures on Dallas Parkway continue through Aug. 22 as construction proceeds. Southbound DNT also closed through Thursday, Aug. 20, for pavement work.

What comes next

Both Prosper and Celina officials have begun planning for development along the future tollway corridor. Celina's plans include office campuses, entertainment venues, hotels and employment centers, while Prosper is eyeing mixed-use developments with retail, restaurants, offices and housing, according to Community Impact in May.

The NTTA has not announced a next milestone date. The project's target remains a late 2027 opening from US 380 to FM 428.
