A proposed car wash and auto repair shop on Fishtrap Road and a renewed request for light industrial zoning on Business Park Drive will go before Prosper’s Planning and Zoning Commission on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

The public hearings begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Prosper Town Hall, 250 W. First St., according to the town’s hearing notice.

The Fishtrap Road proposal, ZONE-26-0002, would establish a planned development for a car wash and minor automobile repair facility on about six acres at the northeast corner of Denton Way.

The property is currently zoned agricultural. The town’s February development report identified the project as Super Splash Car Care Center. The hearing notice does not name the applicant.

The second request, ZONE-26-0004, would rezone about two acres on the west side of Business Park Drive, roughly 1,095 feet south of First Street, from agriculture to a planned development allowing light industrial uses.

The proposal would put two existing vacant buildings into commercial and light industrial use, according to ZoningBrief’s review of the town staff report.

Commissioners voted 5-1 on Sept. 15 to recommend denial despite staff’s recommendation for approval. Commissioner Butler opposed the denial recommendation, and Chair Damon Jackson was absent.

The Town Council unanimously sent the request back to the commission on Oct. 13 rather than approve or reject it, Prosper Weekly reported. The rezoning remains pending.

Residents can attend the Nov. 3 hearings and comment on either proposal. Questions can be directed to Michelle Crowe in the Prosper Planning Department at [email protected] or 972-569-1086.
