Prosper and Celina firefighters battled three separate house fires at the same time Sunday, Sept. 20, drawing crews from both cities.

The largest response went to Meadow Run Drive in Prosper, where fire burned through the roof of a home. Seven Prosper Fire Rescue units responded: Battalion 1, Engine 1, Medic 1, Truck 1, Engine 4, Medic 3 and Quint 2, according to DFW Scanner.

While those units were on scene, Celina Fire Department and Prosper Fire Department were also working a fire inside a two-story house on Field Street in Celina, DFW Scanner reported. Residents in the surrounding neighborhood were told to expect emergency activity.

A third fire then hit Hubbard Park Lane in Prosper. Prosper Quint 2 reported that blaze while other department units were still engaged on the Meadow Run Drive and Field Street calls, DFW Scanner posted.

All three fires overlapped.

Neither Prosper Fire Rescue nor Celina Fire Department had confirmed the reports as of Tuesday, Sept. 22. No information on injuries, fire causes or damage estimates was available from either department.

The three fires came after Prosper Fire Rescue logged its busiest overlap month of 2026. The department's August 2026 monthly report showed 467 calls for service under Fire Chief Stuart Blasingame, up 29% from 362 in August 2025. Overlapping calls, where crews are dispatched to a new incident while already handling another, hit 57% in August. That was the highest monthly figure in the department's 2026 data, up from 36% in August 2025.

The overlap rate has climbed through most of 2026, rising from 33% in January to 57% in August with only a brief dip to 47% in July.

Prosper Fire also gave 19 mutual aid responses in August, 13 of them to Celina, while receiving only two in return. No public debrief or fire commission meeting about the Sept. 20 fires has been announced.
