Fourteen volunteers removed an estimated 125 pounds of litter from Prosper roads during a cleanup organized by the Dr. Shri Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari Pratishthan.
The nonprofit, known as DSNDP, collected five bags of trash through Prosper’s Adopt-A-Street program, CW33 reported. The town-run program allows volunteer groups to help maintain local roadsides.
Organizers said the project reflected the community service values of Dr. Shri Sachindada Dharmadhikari. The report did not identify the cleanup date or the street involved.
DSNDP’s work extends to nine Texas cities. Across 69 activities, the organization reported 789 volunteer participants and approximately 6,705 pounds of waste removed. Those projects have included roadside cleanups and storm drain marking.
The group also organizes tree planting, blood and plasma donation efforts and women’s health awareness programs. Information is available at dsndp.org.
Prosper student earns national bus safety award
Artwork by a Moseley Middle School sixth grader is receiving national attention during School Bus Safety Week, Oct. 19–23.
Sai Darshana Yekolu won the overall 2026 National School Bus Safety Poster Contest with a design illustrating the theme “Safe Rides, Everyday Heroes,” according to School Bus Fleet.
The National Association for Pupil Transportation announced her selection in August. Her entry advanced through state competition before judges representing three national transportation organizations chose the winners.
Judges considered how clearly the posters communicated safety messages, along with their creativity and execution. Yekolu also placed first in the contest’s sixth- through eighth-grade division.
Her winning design is being featured nationwide during the annual safety observance.
